PONTIAC ? Venture Forward, an intensive ten-week program that uses the FastTrac GrowthVenture, will be offered by the Michigan Small Business & Technology Center this October.
Venture Forward uses FastTrac GrowthVenture learning system along with MI-SBTDC counseling and research support to help entrepreneurs evaluate their business issues and opportunities, while developing an action plan for increased sales and profit. It is sponsored by the Oakland CRA Association and The Oakland County Business Center.
The program helps business owners learn several useful business development skills including how to:
? Develop an overall business strategy for growth

? Achieve a strong, competitive market position

? Plan financial needs to avoid cash flow problems

? Structure operations for improved efficiency

? Determine whether a company has the right people to get the job done
?Many operating businesses never get the opportunity to step back and work ON their business, usually focusing on working IN their business. (?Venture Forward?) gives them the chance to step back and work ON their business,? said Lola Ar� – Senior Business Development Representative for the Oakland County Business Center.
There will be ten Friday sessions starting October 3 through December 14 (excluding Thanksgiving week ) with program times of 8:30-11:30 a.m. Cost is $250, which is reduced from the normal fee of $495 fee thanks to the sponsors.
