DETROIT – For the fourth year in a row, 313Dlove is celebrating all things Detroit with an event featuring Detroit’s most inspiring minds plus a march throughout the City.
The 313Dlove movement began on March 13, 2012 with a tweet and the hashtag #313Dlove?a hashtag that went on to trend worldwide as people from around the globe shared their love for the City of Detroit. Since then #313Dlove has continued to trend every year on March 13, the date that matches the city?s famous area code.
The most important event of the day takes place at 3:13 p.m. and everyone in the world is invited to participate. The organizers of 313Dlove are asking all supporters of Detroit to log on to Twitter and share what they love about Detroit using the hashtag #313Dlove, in hopes of the hashtag trending globally once again, bringing worldwide attention to the positivity in Detroit, and ultimately changing the perception of Detroit around the world.
?I remember being misty eyed as I saw #313DLove hit the worldwide trending list in 2012. It was so awesome to see such an outpouring of love for an area we all care so much about,? said Terry Bean, 313Dlove Founder.
To celebrate what has become known as Detroit Day, the organizers behind 313Dlove have planned three events for the Friday, March 13.
To show our support and love for Detroit as well as our unified commitment, a celebratory march will be taking place within the city. The march will depart Detroit?s Charles H. Wright Museum at 10 a.m. and will follow a predetermined path, concluding back at the Museum.
At 1 p.m. some of Detroit?s most innovative and passionate minds will take the stage at the Wright Museum to share their best wishes and inspiration. Tickets are required for the event and can be purchased online at www.313Dlove.com. A large portion of the proceeds will be donated to Beyond Basics.
