SEATTLE – Amazon has made Kindles for years; is a phone next? Though Amazon continues to deny that it’s building a smartphone, all signs point to yes. That’s especially true now that Amazon announced it’s holding a press event on June 18 to unveil a new device.

The company released a video with the invite to the event, showing a handful of people playing with an offscreen gadget and expressing how amazing it is. One of the telltale signs that they might be holding an Amazon phone is that one person remarked that the device “moved with me.” Reports have said that Amazon is designing a smartphone with a unique interface that subtly moves when you move the phone, creating a 3D effect on the screen.

Time and time again, the company refutes the rumors that surface and reminds us that it has no plans to release a smartphone anytime soon. And that might still be true, since the video could very be for a new Kindle device. But, that hasn’t stopped the reports from analysts and industry experts that insist that Amazon is indeed developing a phone.
