ANN ARBOR – ArbCamp, which will focus on sharing the technology and social networking in Ann Arbor, will be held October 27 at the Morris Lawrence Building at Washtenaw Community College.
ArbCamp is a one-day, open-space event featuring members of the greater Ann Arbor community involved in marketing, business and technology, which are converging.
The schedule for the day will be set by attendees in the morning, with food, meeting spaces and a basic structure provided. Throughout the day participants will discuss whatever they want – including technology, marketing and social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln and Flickr. People will present their ideas, blog, podcast, network and share ideas with each other at ArbCamp. The keynote speaker for ArbCamp is Joseph Jaffe.
Jaffe, a noted consultant, speaker and leader in the field of new marketing, will serve to inspire and inform via his passionate, direct and honest perspectives. Jaffe, President of crayon, a conversational marketing company, released his first book in 2005 entitled Life After The 30-Second Spot: Energize Your Brand With A Bold Mix Of Alternatives To Traditional Advertising.
While maintaining his position as a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School and lecturing part-time at NYU?s Stern School of Business, Cornell?s Johnson School of Business and Syracuse University, Jaffe found time to publish another book, Join the conversation: How to engage marketing-weary consumers with the power of community, dialogue and partnership coming out October 21.
The cost is $15 for admission to the full day conference. Add $60 for the Jaffe keynote, keynote includes two copies of Join the Conversation, a $60 value. Full day event plus keynote is $65. Students pay $35 for the day.
