TROY – If entrepreneurship is the primary driver of economic recovery, diversification and development, how does Michigan compare with other states on measures that relate to the creation, retention and expansion of entrepreneurs?
For the sixth consecutive year, Automation Alley is a proud supporter of the Annual Michigan Entrepreneurship Score Card. The report compares Michigan against all other states on issues relating to the formation and growth of entrepreneurs who effectively combine innovation with intent and capacity for growth. This work has been instrumental in focusing attention on innovative entrepreneurship as a viable economic recovery, diversification and development strategy for the state.
Mark Clevey (Score Card author) and Rob Fowler (President/CEO Small Business Association of Michigan {SBAM} and Score Card publisher) will present the findings from the 2009-10 Score Card.
Copies of the Score Card report will be given to all attendees. In addition, presentations will be given on:
How entrepreneurship can be used within existing businesses as a catalyst for innovation and diversification (i.e., “intrapreneurship”)
“Economic Gardening,” – a grow-from-within economic development model as a viable approach for Michigan
SBAM’s entrepreneurship-focused public policy agenda for the current and next administration
