TROY – The nomination due date for the Automation Alley 12th Annual Awards Gala has been extended by two days to 5 p.m. Thursday. New this year: Online voting. After the finalists have been announced, online voting will be open for two weeks.

The Awards Gala is one of Southeast Michigan’s most prestigious events honoring technology organizations and their leaders. Average attendance exceeds 400 and includes top executives, decision makers and members of Southeast Michigan’s business community. The 12th Annual Awards Gala will take place on September 28 at the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights.

Awards are available in the following categories:

Automation Alley Member of the Year. 2011 winner: Al Carpinelli, Logic Solutions Inc.

Educational Program of the Year . 2011 winner: Utica Community Schools Center for Science and Industry

Entrepreneur of the Year. 2011 winner: Paul Angott, president, Angott Medical Products, LLC

Global Trader of the Year. 2011 winner: The Wireless Source

Technology Company of the Year. 2011 winner: Lakeside Software
