TROY – The Automation Alley Technology Committee is hosting a panel discussion on July 14 that will take a look at how the United States can use technology to stem the rising cost of healthcare.

Each of the panel’s four speakers will discuss what is being done in the areas of integration, security and standards, tools and technologies, and process.

Most experts will agree that the uncontrolled increase in healthcare cost is due to inefficiencies, excessive administrative expenses, inflated prices, poor management, and inappropriate care, waste, and fraud.

This event will address these issues that can be resolved using technology solutions to reduce administrative costs by cutting down cycle time, repetitive non-value-added tasks, and waste. As there are many reasons for the rise in healthcare costs and its uncontrolled growth, there must be a systematic way to develop a multifaceted and integrated solution. We need to evaluate the problem in its entirety and address processes, standards, security, tools and technologies.
