TROY – Automation Alley has finally begun the 3,200 square foot expansion at its headquarters to provide a ‘soft landing center’ for international guests interested in conducting business in Southeast Michigan. The new addition will feature a private entrance, three conference rooms, three private offices and an open office area. The project also includes adding additional parking.

“The new expansion will allow international companies to become familiar with the open business culture, technical workforce and quality of life in Southeast Michigan. We anticipate that once they become established, their business will grow and new jobs will be created,” said Ken Rogers, Automation Alley executive director.

The project was funded by a U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development grant sponsored by Congressman Gary Peters and U.S. Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow. The expansion is expected to be completed by spring 2011 and is being constructed by Synergy Group, Inc., located in Bloomfield Hills.

“Automation Alley is perhaps the premier business development and economic stimulator in Southeast Michigan. We are excited to be able to assist this organization in growing its physical space to accommodate global guests,” said E. “Pete” Petrella, chief operating officer, Synergy Group.
