TROY – Automation Alley is leading a trade mission to the U.K.?s Farnborough International Airshow July 12-17 and will be joined by seven Southeast Michigan companies and two local economic development organizations. Their focus will be on expanding Southeast Michigan business into the high-growth aerospace and defense industries.

The Farnborough International Airshow is the world?s largest aerospace and defense exhibition and is expected to attract more than 1,500 exhibitors and 100,000 participants from nearly 50 countries around the world. The trade mission will place participating companies directly in touch with key government officials, military delegations and business leaders as well as potential business partners and buyers of their products, services and technologies.

?We?re hoping this mission will bring more awareness of our services to customers overseas. We?re also hoping to begin producing parts that we can start exporting,? said Bill Edney, CEO of participating company Prototype Cast Manufacturing.

In addition to matchmaking abroad, Automation Alley hosts pre-mission workshops to educate participants about the opportunities and challenges of doing business around the world, including cultural idiosyncrasies and acceptable business practices.
