GRAND RAPIDS ? The challenge today is to provide each knowledge worker with a focused view into the right business tools to tighten the time frames thoughout the decision cycle. One solution offered is a seminar Oct. 26 hosted by BlueGranite, CPR and Microsoft to teach businesses how to drive performance using Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Platform.
The components include SQL Server 2005 (AS/IS/RS), MOSS 2007, Excel 2007, and Performance Point. From data entry to customized reports, solutions built with Microsoft technologies integrate easily and help organizations become more fluid. A fluid organization can adapt their structures and processes to achieve greater efficiency or effectiveness.
The premise: Almost every department in an organization gathers data. They collect behavioral data about their customers ? what they buy, when they buy, how much they buy. They gather performance data about their operations, competitors, and partners. In most companies, business intelligence flows along departmental lines into land-locked storage ponds.
While a company may have a workable distributed computing environment for knowledge management, traditional relational databases are not endowed with the flexibility or responsiveness to supply today’s knowledge workers with tailored, decision-ready information. All too often, departments find themselves competing amongst themselves to gain access to large data repositories, or one department’s surge of data requests brings response time to a crawl.
The challenge today is to provide each knowledge worker with a focused view into the right business intelligence information in order to tighten the time frames thoughout the decision cycle.
Businesses will get some answers Oct. 26 from 8:30 ? 11:30 am at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids. The address is 5700 28th Street SE. The seminar is free, but does require an RSVP.
For questions or to RSVP by phone, contact Melissa Engle at CPR at 616.575.8500 ext. 1220 or Carie Curry at BlueGranite at 269.353.7512 ext. 10.
