GRAND RAPIDS ? Keith Brophy, for the 12th straight year, offered up his vision of the tech future with 10 predictions that include a future where robots will play professional sports.

Brophy, a long-time West Michigan serial entrepreneur, now CEO of Grand Rapids-based Ideomed, spoke to a packed house at the Eve Restaurant at the BOB. The primary host was aimWest.

1. Beverage Service Redefined

In five years, 50 percent of Grand Rapids beer on tap providers use Bottom?s Up style beer fillers. By 2025, high volume restaurants and pubs across the nation have new approaches to technology driven speedy consumer centric service, inspired by this innovation.

2. Bullet Triggered Safety Systems

In five years, 3 percent of nation?s schools use bullet detection and threat response systems. By 2025, the 20% of schools utilize some form of this technology.

3. We Become a Drone Society with Droneways

In five years, 20 percent of large metro police departments use Drones. By 2025, 50 percent of U.S. adults are observed by multiple drones on a daily basis as they are used for everything from traffic monitoring to farm patrol to life guard duties, and every major city has Droneways.

4. A New Tech Era of Pro Sports

In five years, pro sports rules against banned substances and body extensions will start to ease. By 2025, sports teams will not be governed by drug or cyborg extension constraints for humans, and teams of regulated robot participants with personalities will start to emerge as well.

5. Google Glass

Google misses their 2014 launch date but launches in 2015. In 5 years, Google Glass devices are worn by 5 percent in the U.S. By 2025, some form of wearable glasses device is used by 25 percent in U.S.

6. Apple Watch Drives Wearables

In five years, 20 percent of AimWest Tech Trends crowd is wearing an Apple Watch. By 2025, 40 percent of U.S. adults use mobile wearable products on a daily basis, inspired largely by Apple?s watch innovation.

7. Dome Communities Spring Up Across the World

In five years, small domed communities with self-contained biospheres and securospheres will begin to spring forth, with a dozen in the U.S. By 2025, every state will have clusters of such domed communities.

8. 3D Printers Become as Common in Shops, Retail Stores, Restaurants, and Homes as Computer Printers

In five years, 5 percent of businesses in the U.S. will have 3D Printers. By 2025, 3D printers are common place in business, homes and stores, and are actively used for printing food and human tissue.

9. We Begin To Store Our Brains

In five years, the practice of storing brain patterns and cues starts to take hold, with 1 percent of adults 50 and over engaging in the practice. By 2025, 25 percent of seniors in U.S. use some form of memory assist storage. Memory supplement tech also is in high use.

10. Automated Health Valets Live Within Our Mobile Devices to Steward Our Health

In 5 years, the daily practice of stewarding one?s health with a mobile device is standard and practiced by over 10 percent in the U.S. By 2025, mobile health valets with personality and highly adaptive intelligence evolve and are used by 35 percent in U.S.
