ANN ARBOR – The Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest has moved back the Phase I registration deadline for its Business Plan Competition from October 31 to November 15 to give entrepreneurs more time to sign up.
The submission deadline for a completed five-page executive summary by registered teams also has been moved back to December 14th.
“We’ve had an increased flow of entrepreneurs registering for
the competition in recent weeks and want to ensure that all entrepreneurs
have time to register and engage the GLEQ coaches before the executive
summary submission deadline in December,” said Art DeMonte, GLEQ Executive
Director.
Fourteen teams are already registered in the competition, many
have participated in the FastTrac program, and all have been assigned
experienced business coaches.
The GLEQ sponsors a statewide business plan competition with particular
emphasis this year on Business Commercialization. The GLEQ is structured
into two distinct maturity “paths”: companies with more developed
businesses compete in the Emerging Company (EC) path, while teams with new
or less developed business ideas compete in the New Business Ideas (NBI)
path. In Phase I, both EC and NBI executive summaries will be assessed by
up to four professional investors – with highly valuable written feedback
provided to the entrepreneurs. Winners in Phase I can receive cash awards
up to $5,000 and in-kind services from legal, marketing and accounting
sponsors.
GLEQ Phase I Awards will be presented at the Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship Event Set for January 17th at Washtenaw Community College. The ACE program also features:
1. A Showcase Presentation by a growing entrepreneurial company.
2. Elevator Pitch Competition between several early-stage entrepreneurial companies
3. Presentation of the Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest Awards
4. Workshops featuring interaction and discussions on entrepreneurial issues
5. The Entrepreneurs’ Exhibit Display Hall
6. A Poster Presentation Area for early-stage technologies
7. Refreshments and networking

The freedom to now place higher battery capacity where required will provide greater driving range, lower overall emissions and improved vehicle functionality. Sustainable mobility requirements, whether environmental or economic, mandate significant improvements in vehicle energy efficiency, which is made possibly by MaterialWerks’ Integrated In-Wheel Motor System suite of technical IP innovations.
