GRAND RAPIDS ? Carol Van Andel, wife of Van Andel Institute Chairman David Van Andel, has been named to the Davenport University board of trustees.
She serves as Executive Director of the David and Carol Van Andel Foundation and has provided leadership and support to dozens of regional and national organizations focused on education, the arts and wellness.
?We are excited to have a leader of Carol Van Andel?s caliber join Davenport?s Board of Trustees,? said Tracy Graham, Chair of the Davenport University Board of Trustees. ?Her passion for education and for the state of Michigan makes her an ideal candidate to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to the many contributions she will make in her new role.?
Van Andel is a member of the Van Andel Education Institute Advisory Council and the Michigan Colleges Foundation. She also is a Board Member for Grand Action, the Public Museum of Grand Rapids Friends Foundation, the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids and Bethany Christian Services, and is a Past President and Board Member for the Ada Christian School Education Foundation, Opera Grand Rapids and numerous other organizations.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Hope College. Residing in Ada, Mich., Carol and Dave have four sons.
