BIRMINGHAM – ChangeScape, a health care management advisory company, has created a wholly-owned subsidiary, ChangeScape Technologies, to assist physicians, and hospitals with IT implementation.
ChangeScape Technologies will provide strategic health care solutions through:
Selection, implementation and adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) for physician practices and hospital systems
Selection and implementation of health information exchanges (HIEs) to connect physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other health care entities
State government-based HIE planning and implementation connecting Midwest states and other national markets
Educational conferences, surveys and polling to inform clients of developments with federal and state health information technology (HIT) programs
?Through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) over $20 billion is currently available to affect positive clinical, technical and financial transformation of the health care industry through the strategic use of technology,? said ChangeScape Technologies President and CEO Mindy Richards. ?ChangeScape Technologies is uniquely positioned to obtain a material portion of this funding, which relates directly to the four verticals of this firm and fund flow that began in earnest in January 2010.?
About 18,000 physicians in Michigan are poised to collect up to $225 million in ARRA funds for EMR implementation over the next five years. Over 120 hospitals in Michigan are eligible to collect over $228 million in ARRA funds for HIE implementation.
In addition to ChangeScape?s 15-year history of working with hospital and physician practice C-level management, it has been involved in creating business and technology plans for an HIE in Southwest Michigan. A senior team of health care IT specialists are joining Richards and the technology and business consulting team in the creation of ChangeScape Technologies.
Since January ChangeScape Technologies has conducted meetings with hospitals and physician practices, is pursuing state and regional HIE contracts, and has several proposals under consideration for conferences.
?All verticals have been extremely active and will continue to grow at an increasing pace for a minimum five-year period,? Richards said. ?And our goal is to put physicians and other health care entities on the top of EMR and HIE adoption curve in the most effective manner.?
