ROCHESTER – Chrysler Group will host the Michigan Council of Women in Technology?s eighth annual black-tie Signature Gala on Nov. 23. Event proceeds will benefit the MCWT Foundation, an organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting women entering and staying in information technology careers.

?At Chrysler, we believe it is our diversity of talents and perspectives that allow us to take visionary approaches and strategically apply new technologies for the benefit of our diverse business partners and customers,? said Scott Sandschafer, vice president and chief information officer – Chrysler Group LLC. ?Our partnership with MCWT not only supports this philosophy, it helps to increase the number of women in the information technology industry, which traditionally lags behind other industries in its utilization of women.?

The gala will take place at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, complete with a cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auctions and desserts and dancing. The event offers opportunities to network with professionals dedicated to seeing Michigan?s IT industry thrive.

?Our organization was founded by a group of IT visionaries who thrived on volunteerism and remained dedicated to fostering one another?s professional growth and encouraging young women to pursue technology careers,? said MCWT President Maru Flores. ?With each year, we build on the foundation they created, expanding our reach and impact.

?While there is much more work ahead to achieve our aspiring vision of becoming the No. 1 state for women in technology, we are energized by the ongoing commitment of our supporters, partners and volunteers.?

More than 49 companies are supporting the gala, including Diamond event sponsors Worldwide Technologies and Dell, and Emerald sponsors General Motors, CSC, and PWC.
