TROY – Looking to advance your IT career? If so, then participate in Automation Alley’s 2010 Mentor & Coaching Program in partnership with the Midwest Technology Leaders. The deadline is Dec. 14.
The ten-month program pairs Automation Alley members with a CIO mentor in a one-on-one relationship. The 2009 program featured CIOs from local companies such as MGM Grand in Detroit, Beaumont Health Systems, Wayne State University, Washtenaw County, Central Michigan University, the State of Michigan, and Webasto Roof Systems. Many mentors who participated in the 2009 program are expected to return in 2010.
?The Mentor Program was really rewarding, both for mentee and mentor,? said Joe Sawasky , CIO of Wayne State University. ?We both learned much in our brief journey together. It was also a chance to give just a little back to the IT profession and to an aspiring individual who represents the future of Michigan.?
Candidates who are accepted into the program receive kickoff training and supplemental support from Executive Coach Barry Demp of Demp Coaching in Troy.
The Mentor & Coaching Program is an exclusive benefit to Automation Alley members only. First-round application materials include a resume, cover letter and two letters of recommendation; second-round materials include self-evaluation tools such as the Personal Excellence Coaching Assessment, Six Business Coaching Questions and the Coaching Readiness Scale. All materials must be received in one packet no later than Monday, December 14.
There is a $100 non-refundable program fee for mentees. Mentors must be a CIO or Director of IT at a company in Michigan, and can apply through the Midwest Technology Leaders organization.
