ANN ARBOR – Adaptive Materials recently hosted the Ann Arbor chapter of Women Impacting Public Policy for a legislative update with Rep. Mark Schauer (D-Battle Creek). The forum provided local women business leaders the opportunity to discuss the national legislative agenda, and provide the Congressman with feedback on issues most pressing to their businesses.
?Active participation in the legislative process is critical to helping Michigan businesses succeed,? said Adaptive Materials chief business officer Michelle Crumm. ?WIPP provides the opportunity for women business leaders to not only be heard, but to collaborate on legislation that could have the biggest potential for positive impact on our businesses. We?re grateful for Congressman Schauer?s time and attention in helping make our voices heard in Washington.?
The WIPP group talked with the Congressman about their individual businesses and business needs. Included on the agenda was funding for growing Michigan business, increased awareness of the state?s innovation-based businesses and how businesses in Michigan are actively promoting their success here nationally.
The Congressman offered the WIPP group an update on legislative items on his agenda and pledged his commitment to continued support of growing businesses in Michigan. He also offered information on how to contact his office and establish subsequent briefings for updates on action items resulting from the forum.
The Ann Arbor chapter of WIPP is comprised of women business leaders from throughout the region.
