DETROIT – Tel Ganesan, CEO and Founder of Kyyba and President of TiE Detroit has become the chairperson for Connect India Now, an initiative to provide Indian cities, NGO’s, villages and small businesses with cutting edge technology that will not only connect them to each other, but to their counterparts in the United States.

The initiative was started by Keith Zendler, CEO and Founder of Cspace, Inc., a new Detroit-based online network for leaders and organizations, with support from Indian Ambassador Dnyaneshwar Mulay (Consul General of India, New York), former Indian President Pratibha Patil and a number of other leading Indian business, governmental and community development leaders. Zendler recently returned from a 10 month business mission in India to assess the need for improved communication technologies among leaders and organizations at all levels of Indian society.

“India is growing at an incredible pace and is projected to be the 3rd largest economy by 2030. However, there is a great need for its leaders to work together. Also, 70 percent of the country is still rural with limited access to education, health care and business opportunities” said Ganesan. “It is our hope that Connect India Now will be a game-changing way to give India’s people and organizations cutting edge technology that will not only connect them to each other, but to all of us here in the United States. With the recent visit to the United States of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, there seems to be broad consensus that there are tremendous opportunities for economic, political, social and cultural cooperation between the two countries.”

“Tel has been a great supporter for our Cspace network and with all his business and community leadership roles in the US and India, is an ideal champion for this historic initiative” said Zendler. “After having such incredible access to so many of India’s leaders in and around Mumbai and Pune, I am convinced that India’s greatest need is to work together more effectively and Connect India Now will help them do that in a powerful way. Connect India Now will also give Americans a way to connect directly with the people, businesses and organizations of India, bringing the world’s two largest democracies together like never before.”

Connect India Now will publicly launch an interactive website to connect people and resources between the two countries in Spring, 2015. You can find more information at ConnectIndiaNOW.Org
