GRAYLING – Susan R. Corbin, Deputy Director for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth, will be the featured speaker on June 6 at the next session of The Friday Business Series. She’ll discuss unemployment compensation issues.

Corbin oversees operations of the Unemployment Insurance Agency, Wage and Hour Division, Worker’s Compensation Agency, the MES Board of Review, the Worker’s Compensation Board of Magistrates, the Worker’s Compensation Appellate Commission, and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Prior to joining DLEG, Corbin served as director of appointments for Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm. In that role, she assisted the Governor by appointing highly qualified people who share the governor’s value of One Michigan to the governor’s cabinet, the state’s boards, commissions, and judicial vacancies.

Corbin gradated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a degree in International Relations. She spent her academic year at Sichuan University in the People’s Republic of China.
