TROY – Is it possible to mass produce innovation? Are there ways to hire for creativity & teamwork? Find out at an upcoming luncheon hosted by the Troy Chamber called Creativity@Work.

The luncheon is scheduled for Oct. 26 at the Hilton Troy from 11:30 am ? 1:30 pm. The speaker will be Rich Sheridan, president and CEO of Menlo Innovations.

In addition to Sheridan?s presentation, the winners of the 2006 Helen eWards for Web Excellence in a variety of categories (including innovation) will be honored at this event. MItechnews.Com Editor & Publisher Mike Brennan was one of the judges.

?Innovation, imagination, creativity and invention are the only sustaining talents in a global economy being ?flattened? by technology that makes it easy to do any kind of work anywhere in the world,? Sheridan said.

In his ?Creativity @ Work? presentation, Sheridan will describe how his firm looked back 130 years to unleash the power of Edison?s approach to R&D to turn out minor inventions every week and major ones every six months. Sheridan will describe the techniques and approaches that Edison used and how those techniques were applied today to revitalize an industry struggling against the onslaught of inexpensive talent in India and China.

?We must now dig deep and get back to the roots of what made our region and our nation great,? Sheridan said.

Sheridan poses many questions: Is it possible to ?mass produce? innovation? Are there ways to ?hire for creativity and teamwork?? Can the physical design of your office enhance or impede imagination?

Cost for the luncheon (in advance) is $35 for Troy Chamber members/$40 for non-members/$30 for Showcase vendors. To register, call (248) 641-8151 and tell them you heard about it from MItechNews.Com.
