DETROIT – On March 18th, one of the most prominent names in crowdfunding, ProFounder, will tell entrepreneurs how they can fund their dream companies at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center on Wayne State University campus.

“Crowdfunding may be the single most important tool made available to startup companies since the Dutch funded trade with the New World,” said Jack Miner at Wayne State University?s TechTown.

“Maybe I am overstating it, but then, maybe not…. More than 80 percent of TechTown’s portfolio clients (which is more than likely representative of the region) need incremental money to start their company. With something like two or 10 thousand dollars, they can knock down the head pin that will leverage their talent and time into a new career. In addition to the initial money they receive, attracting capital appropriately through the internet provides democratized data that will inform their strategies in creating their new company.”
