GRAND RAPIDS ? Davenport University has named Pamela R. Imperato, Ph.D., as Dean of the Donald W. Maine College of Business and of the College of Technology. She will start in July.
Imperato comes to Davenport from Bellevue University in Nebraska where she has served as Dean of the College of Business, overseeing 24 academic programs, including 12 at the graduate level.
In her new role, Imperato will lead development of new programs while overseeing the operations and budget for Davenport?s Colleges of Business and Technology. She will work to gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities that exist for business education in Michigan and online and will develop a program to serve the need for entrepreneurial education and support.
?Dr. Imperato will be a tremendous asset to Davenport University,? said Dr. Linda Rinker, Executive Vice President for Academics and Provost at Davenport University. ?Her experience in business education, curriculum development and faculty oversight will serve Davenport well.?
At Bellevue, Imperato launched the inaugural graduate program in public administration for the university. She also served as Program Director of the university?s Center for Healthcare, Nonprofit and Public Administration. While at Bellevue, Imperato introduced new academic programs and delivery strategies to support enrollment growth, enhance institutional reputation increase the preparedness and marketability of students.
Imperato holds her Doctorate of Political Science in Public Administration and Public Policy from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Administration in Critical and Creative Thinking from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emmanuel College.
