ROYAL OAK – Information Technology networking organization DetroitNET.org is presenting their first Pink Slip Party May 21st at the BlackFinn Saloon in Royal Oak. The invitation is being extended solely to out of work Information Technology employees in the Metro Detroit area.
They will have the ability to network with roughly a dozen of the top IT recruiters and headhunters in the Metro Detroit area, who will be badged. DetroitNET has also invited a couple professional resume writing companies who will be on-hand to offer resume critique and tips for creating the perfect resume. Light snacks will be provided and there will be discounted drinks from 5pm to 7pm
“At our monthly networking events, we noticed more and more that out of work IT folks were attending, coupled with the fact that we have found over 10 people jobs over the last few months, having a networking function dedicated to them was a no brainer,” said DetroitNET.org founder Bob Waltenspiel
Added co-founder Dave Phillips: “As we’re all aware, the IT industry is in a particularly volatile state right now, just like the rest of the economy as a whole. You can either be 1 of 5,000 resumes showing up in a random inbox responding to a job posting, or you can be the face that someone thinks of when they’re looking to fill a job that might not even be posted yet. That’s what DetroitNET is for giving you the opportunity to be a face, not a file.”
Attendees are being asked to pre-register at PinkSlipPartyDetroit.Com
