MIDLAND – The Dow Chemical company Tuesday introduced a new technology that will make the fabrication of wind blades for alternative energy use that are stronger, lighter and easier to manufacture.
Launched at the JEC show in Paris, France, AIRSTONE Systems for
Wind Energy from Dow once again highlight how the Company’s sharp focus on
sustainable products and solutions is securing long-term commercial
opportunity, the company said in a press release.
“At Dow we’re proud of our ability to derive business value from
innovative chemical solutions while meeting the most pressing world
challenges, such as the need for less carbon-intensive energy
alternatives,” said David E. Kepler, Dow’s executive vice president and
Chief Sustainability Officer. “No one has more at stake or more of an
ability to have an impact on the issue of global energy efficiency than we
do.”
AIRSTONE Systems for Wind Energy, produced by Dow Epoxy Systems, is
the latest of many dynamic Dow products, including STYROFOAM brand
insulation (also used in wind blade construction), that are helping to
create a sustainable future for the human family.
