DETROIT – DTE Energy is resuming production at five of its nine synfuel facilities that had been idled since May due to the recent decline in oil prices.

The company said future changes in the level or

volatility of oil prices could lead DTE to further adjust production

at some or all of its synfuel facilities.

The energy company also reiterated its 2006 operating earnings forecast, excluding synfuels, of $2.41 to $2.66 per share.
