ROCHESTER – Join EcoTuesday on July 28 to hear Jeff Kart, an environmental journalist, blogger, and social media evangalist, who writes primarily for the Bay City Times of MLive, and the Mudpuppy blog, which covers environmental issues in the Saginaw Bay watershed.

Kart will explore how funding can be used to conserve and protect the Great Lakes, what challenges the state is facing and the efforts currently underway.

In addition to federal funding, Kart will discuss current legislation designed to benefit future generations, including programs like the Great Lakes Basin Compact. The Compact is a consortium of the eight states that touch the Great Lakes and is dedicated to the promotion of the orderly, integrated and comprehensive development, use and conservation of the freshwater resources.

The event will be held at Mind, Body and Spirits – Michigan’s first and only sustainably developed and operated fine-dining restaurant. Owner and developer, David Youngman, will be conducting tours of this one-of-a-kind establishment beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Once again, there will be exceptional networking opportunities for professionals with an interest in sustainability, alternative energy and environmentalism.
