TROY ? EcoTuesday on April 27 will look at the world of sustainable buildings and how they can become smarter and more energy efficient.

The featured speaker is Jim Newman, Managing Partner of the Newman Consulting Group. He has tentatively titled his talk “When Will We Be Smart About Smart Building”?

When surveyed, the majority of those asked in the US about “What part of our lifestyles consume the most energy?” usually identify “transportation” or “automobiles”. The truth is, commercial buildings and dwellings are the largest consumers of energy in the United States.

Jim’s talk will provide some great information on buildings and dwellings, what they consume, and the enormous opportunity they present in terms of measurement, benchmarking, weatherization, systems retrofitting and much more.

Along the way, we’ll be treated to some great anecdotes and observations garnered over 30 years of consulting at a national level throughout the United States, and throughout the world.
