DETROIT – EnVironmental Transportation Solutions has created a new video of all the EcoVElectric models with computer generated animation. The video is accessible on the EcoVElectric.Com website. A second version is in process to add narration to the video.
The response has been great to the images which really show what the production EcoV will look like. The video came out as a result of trips to the US Postal Service in Virgina and The Villages in Florida. Both customers were very excited about EcoV and what it can do. Both want to see the production version as soon as possible for either testing or placing advanced orders.
The USPS is looking to buy 200,000 vehicles to deliver mail in the next 10 years and indicated that EcoV could get 20 percent of these vehicles for city/urban area mail delivery once they complete their testing. They have rejected other Low Speed Vehicle producers, but not roadworthy EcoV.
The Villages invited EcoV down because they were looking for a manufacturer of a “street legal golf cart.” EcoV can provide that and much more. They want to see a production version before placing orders. The Villages is a key representative market with 70,000 retirement age people in a golf course focused community. They own 40,000 golf carts but only a fraction is street legal. At several shows it became clear from the residents that EcoV is what they need and want beyond their golf carts.
NEWS FLASH: When President Bush signed into law the $700 Billion Troubled Assets Relief Program on Oct. 3, several other programs were also enacted. One was the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 which among other items provides for a tax credit on plug-in electric vehicles. EcoV will qualify starting in 2009. The credit is significant in size will put EcoV into the same price range as a golf cart, but EcoV is and does so, so much more.
The company continues to work on getting funding in place to start production. The potential Direct Public Offering was dropped since pre-advertising prior to registration is not allowed by SEC. The company has $6 Million in equity today and needs just $3 Million in capital to be in production next year. To learn more visit the website.
