HOLLAND A company that has developed a new way of manufacturing windmill blades was awarded the first “Reinventing Michigan” award by Governor Rick Snyder on Wednesday.

At a ceremony at Energetx Composites LLC, Snyder said the firm was an example of the innovative corporate spirit the state needed to foster to rebuild itself.

The company uses composite materials technology first used in marine manufacturing for the energy industry. Among its products are windmill blades.

At his inaugural address, Snyder said he would honor companies and individuals developing innovative concepts that can help change the state’s image.
