EAST LANSING – Enliven Software is piloting a new entrepreneurship internship for students and recent graduates by offering participants hands-on experience while they learn those qualities essential for a successful career in leadership.
The program, Entrepreneurship Internship Program, will give interns the chance to work for Enliven and its sister companies, Artemis Solutions Group, GreenLite Web Solutions and NuWave Technology Partners.
Enliven targets small and medium businesses across the globe, including emerging markets. The marketing pitch says Enliven helps organizations run more profitably and efficiently by improving internal financial controls and business processes, reducing costs, managing spending and, ultimately, making better financial decisions.
??We saw a need in the community for this program,? said Bunmi Akinyemiju, CEO of Enliven. ??Although many students and recent graduates have impressive skills, these skills tend to be task-oriented versus project- or initiative-oriented. They often lack relevant experiences with leadership and entrepreneurship in action that allow them to apply their skills to create new businesses or launch new products within existing businesses. Developing emerging leaders who possess the ability to embrace these opportunities is fundamental to transforming and growing our local economy.?
EIP, which currently has three interns, will last for a period of four months. During that time, participants will work in different areas of the companies, which all focus on some aspect of technology. Experiences in the internship will include an opportunity to see how businesses work from an end-to-end perspective, as well as offering insight into diverse specialty areas and the global aspect of the business world.
??It is our hope that this program will benefit not only the interns and our companies, but the entire community,? said John Gilkey, president of Artemis Solutions Group. ??We hope to create more of an entrepreneurial culture in mid-Michigan, as well as keep valuable talent in the area.?
Interns will experience a rotational program with a focus on marketing, business development, operations and product development. Day-to-day duties will take place at Enliven??s new office on the MSU campus at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center. Interns will also spend a significant amount of time job shadowing individuals at Enliven??s sister companies. Resources such as leadership books, group learning sessions and interaction with successful entrepreneurs through presentations and other learning experiences will also be part of the program.
Enliven is gearing up to take on an even larger group of interns during the summer months.
Those interested in EIP should submit a resume to Enliven??s Human Resources department at email Enliven-Software.Com
