LANSING – Michael Finney, president and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. has also been named head of the new Economic Growth group, one of six executive groups created by Gov. Rick Snyder.

The group also includes the Transportation and Energy, Labor and Economic Growth department, Ann Arbor.Com reported Friday.

Other groups include:

People: Headed by Department of Human Services director Maura Corrigan. Includes four departments, Community Health, Human Services, Education and Civil Rights.

Public Safety: Headed by Deputy Chief of Staff Jeff Barnes. Includes three departments, Corrections, State Police and Military and Veterans Affairs.

Quality of Life: Headed by Department of Environmental Quality director Dan Wyant. Includes three departments, Environmental Quality, Natural Resources and Agriculture and Rural Development.

Treasury: Headed by Treasurer Andy Dillon. Includes Treasury, the Lottery Bureau and gaming oversight.

Value for Money: Headed by Department of Information, Management and Budget director John Nixon. Includes the Department of Information, Management and Budget and the Office of the State Employer.
