DETROIT – The first Michigan Leadership Institute for Women Entrepreneurs will feature an all day schedule packed with highly acclaimed speakers who will share their expertise on increasing marketing power through diversification, LEAN operation techniques, creative financing strategies, strategic planning, and legal advice on dealing with a bankrupt customer. The first of three Leadership Institute for Women programs will be held at the Davenport University in Grand Rapids on May 21.

The program, whose theme is Times are Temporary, but Tough People are Permanent! is an initiative of the Center for Empowerment and Economic Development, an SBA funded Women’s Business Center. The Leadership Institute for Women entrepreneurs is being sponsored by Comerica Bank, Davenport University, Kellogg’s and The Grand Rapids Business Journal.

“During these unprecedented economic times, small business owners need effective business tools that CEED can provide,” said SBA District Director Richard Temkin. “The Leadership Institute for Women will offer the best advice for business owners to sustain their business operations. SBA’s Women’s Business Centers are dedicated to helping all women business owners grow and succeed.”
