LANSING – As of 11:22 a.m. Saturday, the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget has restored food assistance benefits to all Bridge Cards that were not loaded with money by a human error on Thursday. A spokesman said there we no errors in the restoration process.

On Friday, the DTMB announced that 85,000 food assistance recipients and their families didn?t received their monthly food assistance benefits. As a result of human error, benefits to the Bridge Cards providing food assistance for clients with account numbers ending in 0 were not loaded to the cards as expected.

?DTMB understands the hardship that this situation has caused Michigan families and the inconvenience to the businesses that serve them,? DTMB spokesperson Kurt Weiss said Friday. ?We are working around the clock to correct the problem as quickly as possible and we will determine why it occurred.?
