ANN ARBOR – Investment banker, technology security expert and philanthropist Peter Bloom will draw on his years of experience on Wall Street, high tech industry, and social entrepreneurship in his keynote address to ACE ’14, the Fourteenth Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship event to be held January 30 at Burton Manor in Livonia.
Bloom?s extensive resume includes Senior Management and Director positions at GETCO, General Atlantic, Passur Aerospace, Gavilon, and Salomon Brothers Technology Division. With a degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University, he has become a nationally recognized expert in information technology and risk assessment and investing in high tech companies. Bloom led the team that was responsible for recovering the trading capability of 11 firms following the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. He is an active member of the Business Executives for National Security and the FCC Technical Advisory Council.
In the non-profit world, Bloom is the Board Chairman of DonorsChoose.org, which was named the most innovative charity in America by Stanford Business School and Amazon. He is also co-founder and Chairman of Peak Rescue Institute, which teaches advanced rescue skills to first responders in law enforcement, public health and the military. His depth of experience touches on every aspect of entrepreneurial advancement including product and service development, market building, funding, growth, and exit strategies.
