ANN ARBOR – The competition continues ? with plans now in the hands of GLEQ judges. The judges are reviewing and scoring the executive summaries and business plans for the awards event June 12. Judges’ comments will be provided to the entrepreneurs, giving them valuable feedback on their business ideas and growth plans.

The top two winners in the Emerging Company category will be selected from five finalists presenting three-minute elevator pitches to a panel of judges at the event. The first place winner will receive a $25,000 cash award. The runner-up will receive $5,000.

The top two winners in the New Business Idea category will be announced based on the judges? review of their written executive summaries. Additional recipients will receive $12,500 awards to be announced by Automation Alley and NextEnergy for the top plans in advanced manufacturing and alternative energy.

The event will be held on the MSU campus in the Atrium room of the James B. Henry Center. The keynote address will be presented by Michael W. Long, Ph.D., President/CEO, Velcura Therapeutics and GLEQ?s top award recipient in 2001.
