ANN ARBOR – Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest on Feb. 21 presented the Entrepreneurial Community Supporter and Advocate Award for 2007 to Jan Gensheimer of Seracon at New Enterprise Forum.
Gensheimer was recognized for her outstanding contribution to the success of new technology ventures in Michigan through her leadership roles in business development organizations including GLEQ and NEF, her volunteer efforts as a coach and mentor, and her personal commitment to entrepreneurship.
She is currently New Enterprise Forum?s vice president. She?s active on numerous NEF coaching teams. She is a mentor at Ann Arbor SPARK?s entrepreneur boot camps. She previously held executive positions at not-for-profit business development organizations including MichBio, Michigan?s life science organization and mPower.
During GLEQ?s business plan competition, Gensheimer has coached teams and supported their efforts to effectively compete and win awards. In addition to working with teams during the competition, she developed the GLEQ coaching process with complete documentation, communications package and coaches training.
New Enterprise Forum annual awards were also presented Thursday evening. The NEF Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Randal Charlton, Ph.D. Best New Product of the Year was presented to Sean Ainsworth, CEO, GeneVivo. Best Business Strategy of the Year was presented to Gideon Eden, Ph.D., CEO, BioLumix, Inc. Best Presentation of the Year was presented to Greg Guidice, President & CEO, RazorThreat.
BioLumix was also a GLEQ Emerging Company award recipient in the fall cycle of the statewide business plan competition.
