LANSING ? Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm is the keynote speaker April 24 at the Fourth Annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Awards celebration at the Lansing Center.
Michigan?s economy is built on a strong foundation of innovation and hard working people. Michigan Celebrates Small Business seeks to acknowledge the best and brightest of small business leadership in Michigan. Highlighting the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch and the MI-SBTDC Best Small Business awardees, the success stories and energy resonate beyond this event and continue to push Michigan?s economy forward while providing growth opportunities for the workforce of tomorrow.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center, Small Business Association of Michigan, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Edward Lowe Foundation have come together for a fourth year, engaging in a collaborative effort to recognize these companies and share in the promising future they represent for Michigan.
In addition to the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch, the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center will recognize their Best Small Business awardees. The 12 companies were selected from among 11,031 companies the MI-SBTDC provided with confidential counseling and training last year. They were chosen not only upon the basis of their success in terms of sales, employment and business strategy, but also on the economic impact and the involvement of the MI-SBTDC in providing assistance to reach their goals.
