MACKINAC ISLAND – Grand Hotel is launching a week-long digital photo contest, asking guests to post pictures from the 125th anniversary season to Instagram. The competition closes Oct. 30.
The images can be posted using hashtag #grandhotel125. The Grand Hotel Instagram account can be found under @grandhotelmichigan. Whoever posts the most picturesque memory from the 125th anniversary season will win a stay at Grand Hotel for two people for the 126th birthday on July 10, 2013.

Grand Hotel, a national historic landmark, celebrated its 125th birthday on July 10th of this year. There were many celebratory events during the week of the birthday and throughout the season, including serving a 125-foot birthday cake on its 660-foot Front Porch, the longest porch in the world, fireworks, and a grand celebration gala with three former Michigan governors.
The 385-room Grand Hotel opened on July 10, 1887 as ?America?s Summer Place? and is revered for preserving its historic charm and white-glove service, much due to its exceptional location on an island with no motorized vehicles. The hotel?s award-winning guest experience is also credited to the Musser Family, who has owned and operated Grand Hotel for 79 years.
