ANN ARBOR ? Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest will be announcing the winners of its Phase I Fall Cycle business-plan competition on Jan. 22 at the 2009 Annual Collaboration For Entrepreneurship. The rub is if you’re competing in the GLEQ contest, you have to attend ACE to win.

Cash prizes for those winners include $5000 for first place, $2500 for second place and $1000 for third place in the Emerging Companies category; and $2500, $1000 and $1000 for first, second and third, respectively, in the New Business category.

Some 111 companies signed up to compete in the Phase I contest, but only 82 submitted executive summaries ? the program requirement ? to Executive Director Diane Durance.

“It?s the third consequitivie year we’ve held this phase award program at ACE,” Durance said. “Any entrepreneur that’s looking to network with fellow entrepreneurs and potential investors should be at this event.”

In other GLEQ news, Durance was elected Vice President of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association earlier this month at GLREA’s annual meeting.

ACE ’09 will be held Jan. 22 at Washtenaw Community College’s Morris Lawrence Building in Ann Arbor. For more information, click on ACE-Event.Org
