MIDLAND – Fifty two exhibitors showcased their companies May 30 at the MidMichigan Innovation Center’s Heading for the Big Leagues showcase at the Dow Diamond, some 20 percent more than a year ago.
More than half of the exhibitors were affiliated with the MMIC, Bizdom University and BlueWater Angeles, said Chris Moultrup, MMIC Program Director. He said at least 300 paid to attend.
?It?s been a great response,? Moultrup said. ?Everyone said the workshops were better than ever. We?re slowly growing attendees more than the targeted investors, community leaders, and targeted entrepreneurs.?
A special morning session from 10 am to noon was described by one attendees as a laser-shot MBA program. Business experts discussed, ?Best Shot: Hitting Your Target Market.?
Breakout sessions in the afternoon included:
Access to Capital, Go to Market, Pennies on the Dollar, Plus another that provided advice on how to successfully market your company.
A VIP reception and awards ceremony followed.
The event transforms the Dow Diamond concourse into a technology and innovation showcase for high-growth start-up companies and promising business talent in Michigan. The event provided exhibitors the opportunity to display and demonstrate their innovative products to potential investors as well as business and community leaders.
Moultrup credited Dow Chemical and Dow Corning as lead sponsors.
?This is continues to be a statewide event that brings as many people to Midland as we can to show them there is great technology north of I-69.?
