TROY – Walsh College and Wayne County Community College District will host “I.T. PAY$,” a free Information Technology Career Exploration Night, on March 31 from 6-8 p.m. at the WCCCD Eastern Campus.
National employment for computer network, systems, and database administrators is expected to grow by 30 percent through 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Most jobs in the field require a bachelor?s degree and/or specialized industry certification.
James Darrow, director of Technical Services at Ilitch Holdings Inc., will be the keynote speaker. Other speakers will review IT security issues and offer a forecast of the local IT job market. WCCCD and Walsh advisors will be available to discuss program options at their respective schools. The event will be in the Cooper Room, with refreshments provided by Subway.
Agreements between WCCCD and Walsh College allow students to seamlessly transfer credits as they work toward associate, bachelor?s, and master?s degrees in a variety of business and information technology disciplines.
