DETROIT – From positioning Michigan as the Midwest hub for high-tech women entrepreneurs to networking with leading ladies of government, Inforum been busy with a year full of programs for professional women as the group celebrates its 10th year.

Inforum is a Michigan organization designed to accelerate careers for women and boost talent initiatives for companies. The ladies have been busy getting ready for one of the premiere annual events ? Under the Dome. The event is brought to the community by Inforum and Dome Magazine to give attendees a chance to hear from female leaders of Michigan?s 98th Legislature and network.

After this February 11 event, women will be one step closer to helping shape Michigan?s future. The event starts with a chance to tour the State Capitol and understand a day in the life of our government leaders. A key part of influencing government is to understand how it works. After the tours, the group will be addressed by special speakers and head to the networking portion of the event at the Radisson.

The evening of networking is an exciting night of learning about the journeys of so many great female leaders across the State. It is a night of celebration, idea sharing, and definitely a great way to make valuable connections.

This is just one way Inforum is continuing to support their mission, but this is not all. The Inforum Center for Leadership has an inGAGE strategy that is focused on supporting women-led high growth ventures. By understanding that the key of entrepreneurial success is experience, Inforum has created three programs to provide the awareness and access to resources needed for women entrepreneurs.

Rachele Downs is the Vice President for Enterpreneurial Strategies and the Program Director for these growing programs offered in both East and West Michigan, often expanding into other cities like Ann Arbor.

Downs is passionate about how these programs will ?help accelerate the launch of women owned businesses in tech based industries.?

In two years since this program started, Inforum can see the impact it has made on new companies with over 16, new jobs for the Michigan economy, several patents, and millions in revenue.

Inforum is continuing a two-phase inGAGE program and an ongoing speaker series to support aspiring and emerging women entrepreneurs.

The two-phased program includes the inGAGE Growth program which can kickstart aspiring entreprenuers with all the tools they need to understand the critical phases of launching a new business venture.

This is complimented by the inGAGE Master class that works with second stage entrepreneurs to provide higher level peer support, customized content, and most of all introduction to capital opportunities. Both programs are funded in part by the Michigan Economic Development Program and the New Economy Initiative.

Inforum is in full swing accepting applicants for both the inGAGE Growth and Master Classes until February 28. The growth series runs starting in March for four months while the Master extends eight months.

The third series is the inGAGE Role Model and Investor series that aims to connect emerging and experienced entrepreneurs with inspirational women in a speaker format. This will help with both networking and valuable content and insight.

The next event in this series will be held on February 18 in Tech Town and feature several notable role model guest speakers. The event will feature Elizabeth Sussex from Wayne Alumni Law Group, Carla Walker-Miller from Walker-Miller Energy Services, LLC, and Melanie de Vries from Payment Scholar. It is clear Inforum is supporting their mission with these outstanding programs that are in full swing. Inforum combines strategic connections, proven professional development programs, forums for new ideas, and original research to truly enable women in Michigan and beyond. This is an organization not to be missed for women professionals looking to grow their skills in any industry.
