SAN FRANCISCO – Sight Machine, developer of a manufacturing
analytics platform, announced Tuesday that Inteva Products, a global
automotive supplier of engineered components and systems, has selected its manufacturing analytics solution to deploy in Inteva factories.
Inteva Products is a spin-off from Delphi and its
headquarters is in Troy. Sight Machine is a start-up with an office in Livonia.
Sight Machine transforms heterogeneous machine and sensor
data into actionable insights, helping manufacturers tackle critical challenges
in quality, performance and operations. Unlike general-purpose Big Data tools,
Sight Machine is built for the specific needs of manufacturers.
Manufacturing analytics is rapidly gaining recognition as a
powerful new technology for advanced manufacturing. According to a 2014 report
from McKinsey & Co., “[analytics] can be a critical tool for realizing
improvements in yield, particularly in any manufacturing environment in which
process complexity, process variability, and capacity restraints are
present. Indeed, companies that successfully build up their capabilities in
conducting quantitative assessments can set themselves far apart from
competitors.”
Inteva Products provides automakers with environmentally
friendly products that enhance vehicle quality, safety and performance. Inteva
has global resources for engineering, manufacturing and customer service for
Closure Systems, Interior Systems, Motors and Electronics, and Roof Systems.
Sight Machine provides manufacturers with real-time
reporting of quality problems; retrospective analysis of product variation and
failures; predictive analytics to support process improvement; and defensive
recordkeeping and proof of quality for customers.
