DETROIT – The IT in the D Show, which was launched in
late-2013 will now be broadcast live from their own studios above Activ8 Gaming
in Ferndale. What began as an outlet for founders Bob Waltenspiel and David
Phillips to, in essence, record their ramblings, has turned into a wildly
popular podcast that is listened to in all 50 states and 41 countries over 5
million times.
The show’s hosts are Bob “The Sales Guy” and Dave “The Geek.”
Topics include everything from local Detroit news stories, national technology
stories, and things that made them laugh; guests have included everyone from
database guru Jack Olson to the CIO of Oakland County to members of the Go!
Comedy Improv Theater.
The show will be broadcast from 9 to 11 pm on Monday nights. Listeners can grab
the stream from http://www.itinthed.com/listenvia an embedded flash or HTML5 player, or can listen via the TuneIn radio app,
searching IT in the D.
“The show is literally what do IT guys talk about at the
bar,” added co-host Waltenspiel, “The best reviews we get are people that
tell us that it isn’t informative, but insanely entertaining. I can live with
that.”
Co-host Phillips added: “We would have been happy
knowing 20 people listened, but it literally hurts my head knowing that as of
late, over 200,000 people are listening to our show every week. I can’t wait to
see what’s next.”
Both hosts send out a thank you to Neil
Nosakowski from Trinet for helping them put this thing together.
