DETROIT – In just two years, the ITInTheD.Com Live Internet radio show podcast has hit

a major milestone – getting 10 million listens in just 103 episodes.

What

began as an outlet for two self-admitted geeks to record their ramblings has

somehow become a two-hour podcast (www.itinthed.com)

listened to by folks in all 50 states and 41 countries.

The

show’s hosts are Bob “The Sales Guy” and Dave “The Geek.” Topics include

everything from local Detroit news stories, national technology stories, and

things that made them laugh; guests have included everyone from database guru

Jack Olson to the CIO of Oakland County to members of the Go! Comedy Improv

Theater, a local Roller Derby girl team, and entrepreneurs from all facets of

business and life in the metro Detroit area, including MITechNews.Com Editor Mike Brennan, as well as Internet Advisor Co-hosts Foster Braun and Gary Baker.

“We

were happy when five people were listening, but to think that over 250,000 a

week listen to our show is mind boggling to say the least.” Phillips said.

The

show is broadcast from 9 PM to 11 PM on Monday nights. Listeners can grab the

stream from http://www.itinthed.com/listenvia an embedded flash or HTML5 player, through the TuneIn radio app, searching “IT in the D,” or through their own app.

Taking

their lessons learned, in mid-2015 the duo teamed up with Neil Nosakowski of

Trinet Corporation and Activ8 Gaming to build out the Detroit Sound Studios.

With that, the team has now launched Podcast Detroit, a network that offers a

wide variety of shows, content, and media to be delivered in an easily

consumable format that you can listen to live or at your convenience.

“With

the amazing studio that was built, plus the capacity to run multiple shows at

once, the possibilities are literally endless. If you would have asked me two

years ago this is where we would be, I would have laughed in your face,” said Waltenspiel.

In

September, MITechNews.Com Editor Mike Brennan and Engineering Society of

Detroit Technology Century Editor Matt Roush will join the Podcast Detroit

network with a show called MITechCast. The format will be hard hitting

business and technology news, including interviews with the people behind these

stories.

Podcast

Detroit will not only be producing new content, but also syndicating some of

your favorite podcasts, including the Internet Advisor (internetadvisor.net) on WJR 760 AM in Detroit. More details on that to come, however you can go to http://www.podcastdetroit.com for a

current show schedule and how to listen, and how to connect with us to have

your show on the Podcast Detroit network.

Founded

in 2001, IT in the D’s mission has been to create a venue for Information

Technology professionals in Metro Detroit to offer a safe and agenda-free

networking venue. The group added a wildly popular blog site to help steer the

IT community, a podcast showcasing local tech news, start-ups and banter, as

well as numerous user-groups to help collaboration. More information can be
