LIVONIA ? Jim Croce, chief executive officer at NextEnergy Center, will discuss business opportunities in alternative energy on March 19 during Madonna University’s next McManus Lecture.

Croce lecture topic is called The Green Giant: Finding Economic Opportunity in the Emerging Alternative Energy Sector.

?Attendees will learn how alternative energy can advance Michigan?s economy while reducing our dependence on foreign oil and the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere,? said Croce. ?New technologies, including wind power, solar power, and alternative fuels, will be discussed.?

Croce manages business strategy, leadership initiatives, and government relations. NextEnergy Center is a non-profit dedicated to energy technologies positively influencing the nation?s economic competitiveness, energy security, and the environment.

Hosted by Madonna?s School of Business, the lecture is free and open to the public. The event begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in Kresge Hall, located on Madonna University?s main campus in Livonia.

The McManus Distinguished Business Lecture Series at Madonna University was established by Michael F. McManus Jr., founder and CEO of Header Products, Inc. in Romulus, in memory of his father and to acknowledge his father?s entrepreneurial success. Michael F. McManus Sr. was an effective manufacturing agent for more than 50 years in the Detroit area. His sales efforts helped establish the Chicago Rivet and Machine Company.
