GRAND RAPIDS – Kuyper College and Davenport University announced Tuesday an agreement that will allow eligible students from each institution to transfer credits toward a bachelor or master degree program at the other school. For some students, this agreement also will allow them to earn two degrees ? one from each institution ? in just five years.
?This partnership degree program is quite unique,? said Dr. Richard Pappas, President of Davenport University. ?It offers students educational opportunities that capitalize on the areas of expertise at both Davenport and Kuyper.?
?This innovative partnership will serve students very well,? said Nicholas Kroeze, President of Kuyper College. ?It is a demonstration that collaboration is an important value and strategy shared by our institutions that will further our respective missions by building on each other?s strengths.?
A key component of the agreement allows Kuyper College students who have obtained an Associate of Arts degree to transfer seamlessly to Davenport?s Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing Pre-Licensure program. Other degrees offered in the partnership include bachelor?s degrees in Sport Ministry and Business Leadership from Kuyper and bachelor?s degrees in Sport Management, Accounting Information Management and Integrative Professional Studies, plus combined bachelor/master?s degrees (BBA/MBA) in Strategic Management and Professional Accountancy from Davenport. Davenport students also will have the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at Kuyper.
Students interested in the partnership degree program must meet the established admission criteria at each school. Kuyper students must earn at least 120 semester hours toward a bachelor degree, select a major at Davenport that is consistent with the Kuyper degree program, and meet DU residency requirements. Davenport students must earn a total of at least 124 semester hours toward a bachelor degree, select a major at Kuyper that is consistent with the Davenport degree program, and meet Kuyper residency requirements.
