HOLLAND ? LG Chem Michigan is still seeking qualified candidates for both Technical Operator and Maintenance Technician positions.

“We are continuously reviewing the applications and interviewing people,” says Jeremy Hagemeyer, Human Resources Manager for LG Chem Michigan Inc. “The job fairs were one way we could introduce ourselves to the community, and the hiring process is ongoing.”

Making an initial visit to a Michigan Works service center might save time in an individual’s application process. A staff member will be able to provide one-on-one guidance through the steps below. Applicants should not forget to update their resume on the Michigan Talent Bank.

The steps for applying for the position of Technical Operator are the following:

Step 1.

Visit the Michigan Talent Bank to see the job description for the Technical Operator. (http://www.michworks.org). Search for “LG Chem Michigan Inc., or go directly to this page for the job description: (https://www.michworks.org/mtb/user/pkg_jobs.ViewJobOrder?an_Orders_ID=3069536&as_FromSearchResult=TRUE&as_view_type=PRINT).

While viewing the job description you will see a tab titled “How To Apply.” Click on that tab and you will find a link to LG Chem Michigan’s online application.

Step 2:

Fill out the online application. It can be found on this page: (http://www.applicantstack.com/client/lgcmi-careers/x/detail/a2h3t08ms9d2).

Step 3:

This step concerns the National Career Readiness Certificate for WorkKeys. Some people have taken this assessment, others haven’t.

a. For those who have taken it, applicants will need to find/obtain your NCRC Certificate Number. To get that number call Ottawa County Michigan Works at (616) 355-3326 and tell the staff member what year you took the assessment, and where you took it (for example, in school, at the Thompson M-TEC, someplace in Ohio, etc.). They will help you find the number.

b. For those who have not taken the NCRC WorkKeys assessment call Ottawa County Michigan Works at (616) 355-3326 and tell the staff member you are applying for LG Chem Michigan and wish to schedule a time and place to take the WorkKeys assessment. The staff member will explain what it is and where you can take the assessment.

Step 4: Visit a Michigan Works office convenient to you and fill out a Minimum Standards Form for LG Chem Michigan. The reason for the in-person visit is that there is information that must be written as opposed to emailed. The Minimum Standards Form will be put with the rest of your paperwork and submitted to LG Chem Michigan for review.

Interested individuals are encouraged to visit a Michigan Works service center for one-on-one assistance for each of these steps. Individuals are also welcome to do each of these steps in the service center.
