LANSING – The Manufacturing Matters Video Challenge is encouraging companies to showcase what they are, why they do what they do and how it impacts the Great Lakes State. The videos will be posted on the Michigan Manufacturers Association YouTube channel and Facebook page with the most Likes determining the winner.

?Manufacturing employs more than 563,000 people in Michigan and that?s a number that is only growing with each year,? said Chuck Hadden, MMA president and CEO. ?With May?s annual celebration of Michigan Manufacturing Week, this video challenge provides manufacturers the chance to promote the incredible work they do every day of the year.?

It?s time to get creative. Break out your smartphone or video camera and produce a short video, 60 seconds or less, explaining to the world why manufacturing maters to you, your company and to Michigan. Submit your video by Friday, Aprli 25, 2014, and the general public will vote on the ones they like best. The winning video will receive a VIP guest pass for the MMA CEO & Executive Forum and the opportunity to share their story with 150 manufacturing executives in attendance. The best moments of the videos submitted will be compiled into a ?Manufacturing Matters? video mash-up that will be played during the Forum.

?Your videos can have a professional look or a casual, real feel,? said Hadden. ?This video challenge is a great opportunity to celebrate Michigan manufacturing and showcase why manufacturing matters.?
