SOUTHFIELD ? The Michigan Council of Women in Technology in November will host an event at Lawrence Tech Nov. 9 called Connect-Net, “Tai Chi: The Chinese Discipline of Meditative Movements, Practiced as an Exercise System.” Attendees will be exposed to the three major categories of study in Tai Chi Chuan: health, meditation and martial arts.
Tai Chi instructor John Cipriani of the Michigan Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung Institute will guide you through the experience of Tai Chi and teach you how to eliminate everyday stressors. Some of the benefits of Tai Chi Chuan include:
Increased circulation, enhanced flexibility, and improved balance, joint mobility, and respiration from the slow movements of postures.
Improved focus and relaxation under stress.
Renewed physical and mental state, often leading to better quality of life
Business Casual is appropriate: Comfortable clothes will make it easier for you to “learn by doing” the actual exercises demonstrated that night.
